The De Beauvoir Gardeners’ is a club for anyone Hackney-wide who has a window-box, a small patch of ground, an allotment or a garden; for people who love getting their hands in the soil or those who prefer to simply read about gardens and gardening from the comfort of an armchair. All you need to join us is a love of plants and planting.
Our annual programme includes monthly illustrated talks on the first Tuesday of the month in the Crypt of St. Peter’s Church on a wide variety of topics (recent subjects have included Moghal gardens, topiary, soft fruit growing, and gardening in small spaces), regular updates and social events. Venues of our social events are given nearer the time.
The club provides an opportunity to meet other gardeners
of all persuasions and abilities from all over Hackney and
Islington.
Our borough is fortunate to be one of the greenest in London
and the De Beauvoir Gardeners exist to celebrate our open
spaces.
We very much look forward to seeing you.
